KUALA KUBU BARU: A man burned to death after a collision with a trailer truck left him pinned inside his sports utility vehicle (SUV) on Tuesday (Aug 31).
Hulu Selangor OCPD Supt Arsad Kamaruddin said the accident occured at around 5pm along KM407 of the North-South Expressway.
"The driver, who was travelling in from Kuala Lumpur towards Perak, lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the centre divider.
"The impact of the initial collision sent the vehicle into a spin before a trailer truck rammed into it in the centre lane of the highway," he said in a statement on Wednesday (Sept 1).
He said the driver was pinned in the vehicle when it caught fire.
"The man died at the scene. His body has been brought to the Kuala Kubu Baru Hospital for post-mortem and identification.
"We urge anyone with any information on the incident to contact the police immediately," he said.
He added that the case has been classified as reckless driving under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
