Former President Donald Trump appeared unable to handle basic questions about the election he claims was rigged against him in November 2020 as he was shown storming out of an interview with ex-Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan.

       Mr Morgan, who has joined the Rupert Murdoch-owned TalkTV to host his own Piers Morgan Uncensored programme, posted a heavily-edited, jump-cut filled clip of the interview to his Twitter page on Wednesday to promote his new show, which launches on 25 April.

       In a series of shots, an irate Mr Trump is shown grimacing as Morgan tells him the 2020 election — which Mr Trump lost — was “free and fair” and says the ex-president “never produced the hard evidence,” as Mr Trump tries to interject by shouting “excuse me” over and over again.

       At one point Mr Trump says: “I think I’m a very honest man, much more than you actually.”

       After Morgan says “it was a free and fair election – you lost”, Mr Trump replies: “Only a fool would think that.”

       “You think I’m a fool?’ asks Morgan.

       “I do now,” Mr Trump replies.

       In subsequent clips he tells Morgan “I don’t think you’re real”, and “Let’s finish up the interview”.

       A final clip shows Mr Trump standing up and ordering cameras shut off before walking away while saying: “Very dishonest”.

       It’s unclear to what extent the clips posted by Morgan reflect the substance of his interview with Mr Trump, as the video on his Twitter page was heavily edited.

       Morgan himself is no stranger to walk-offs, storming off the Good Morning Britain set in March last year after he was challenged by weather presenter Alex Beresford over his comments about Meghan Markle in the wake of her and Prince Harry’s interview with Oprah Winfrey. Beresford dubbed his behaviour “pathetic” and “diabolical” and Morgan left the show shortly afterwards.

       He has interviewed Mr Trump several times before – the pair met when the ex-British tabloid editor appeared on Celebrity Apprentice in 2008.
