President Donald Trump's hearing has been called into question after he repeatedly asked reporters to repeat their questions during a press conference in the Oval Office with French President Emmanuel Macron.
Despite clear vocal projection from journalists and translators, Trump was heard asking for louder speech on at least two occasions. A user on X highlighted this issue, stating: "Unironically, Trump might be losing his hearing. He's asked at least twice in this Oval Office presser with Macron for journalists / the translator to speak up even when you can hear them clearly."

Afghan White House correspondent, Nazira Karimi, questioned Trump about his future plans for the Afghan people, to which he responded: "I have a little hard time understanding you; where are you from?"
Trump asked Karimi, and several other reporters answered Afghanistan, although it's unclear whether he actually heard the response. Bizarrely, he responded: "Actually, it's a beautiful voice and a beautiful accent. The only problem is, I can't understand a word you're saying, but I just say this: good luck, live in peace."

In Monday's press conference, Macron publicly challenged Trump, correcting him over his assertions about Ukraine in what appeared to be a moment of diplomatic pushback. This intervention highlighted a strain between the two statesmen despite their seemingly friendly rapport.
Trump proposed the notion that European countries were simply lending funds to Kyiv, saying: "Just so you understand, Europe is loaning the money to Ukraine. They're getting their money back," but Macron promptly stepped in, reaching over to grab Trump’s arm to punctuate his counter-argument.
"No, in fact, to be frank, we paid," Macron declared. "We paid 60 percent of the total effort. It was like the US - loans, guarantees, grants."
