Sir Keir Starmer is already facing accusations of hypocrisy after flying to the Euro final in Berlin yesterday via private jet.
Labour spent years in opposition hammering Rishi Sunak and other Tory ministers for using private jets in their official government capacity, accusing them of wasting taxpayer money when commercial flights were just as convenient and much cheaper.

Despite numerous commercial flights between London and Berlin yesterday, Sir Keir boarded a Government-chartered Airbus A-321 yesterday for the opportunity to watch England bring it home.
The plane set off from Stansted at 3.30pm, arriving in Berlin around an hour and a half later.
While the cost of the trip is yet to be declared by the Government, a trip by Liz Truss in the same jet to and from Prague in 2022 cost the taxpayer ￡40,000.

In January, Labour published a post on their website that described Rishi Sunak as “out-of-touch”, and blasting him for using private flights.
They described the former PM’s travel choice as “elitist”.
In January 2023, Angela Rayner also argued that Mr Sunak’s 230-mile journey to Blackpool made a mockery of the then-PM’s environment strategy.
The now-deputy Prime Minister fumed that Mr Sunak had been “jetting around the country on taxpayers’ money like an A-list celeb”.
Responding to yesterday’s luxury travel decision by Sir Keir, the Taxpayer’s Alliance demanded that the Prime Minister begin holding himself to the same standards as his predecessor.

Elliot Keck, the campaign group’s head of campaigns, blasted: “Taxpayers will be disappointed to see yet another politician failing to walk the walk”.
"Labour rightly hammered the last government on its frequently lax attitude towards waste and excess, yet its allowing standards to slip right off the bat.
"Starmer should hold himself to the standards he set for the last government - a no-nonsense attitude towards waste.”
During the election campaign, The Express revealed that Sir Keir had also used a private jet to fly from Wales to Scotland, merely hours after the Labour Party had torn into Rishi Sunak for travelling by helicopter.

Sir Keir also made the gaffe in order to get to Scotland and announce his big environmental offering of GB Energy.
After a tip-off that Sir Keir dodged public transport and instead opted to go by private jet, a Labour spokesman has now told the Express that the demands of the election campaign require Sir Keir to use “efficient travel”.

Unable to deny the charge, the Labour spokesman said: “To engage with as many UK voters as possible with our offer of change, the campaign demands efficient travel.”
They added: “All our flights are carbon offset.”
A Downing Street spokesman argued this morning: “The Government is committed to always delivering value for money for taxpayers. As you know decisions on travel are always taken with that in mind in relation to ministerial time and delivering value for money”.
