“Congratulations, President @realDonaldTrump. Ready to work together as we did for four years. With your convictions and mine. With respect and ambition. For more peace and prosperity,” Mr Macron said on X.
“Germany and the USA have long been working together successfully to promote prosperity and freedom on both sides of the Atlantic. We will continue to do so for the benefit of our citizens,” Mr Scholz wrote on X.
“I warmly congratulate Donald J. Trump. The EU and the US are more than just allies. We are bound by a true partnership between our people, uniting 800 million citizens. So let’s work together on a strong transatlantic agenda that keeps delivering for them,” Dr von der Leyen wrote on X.

“We will continue to approach and handle China-US relations based on the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation,” Ms Mao said at a regular news briefing. “We respect the choice of the American people.”
“I want to bring the Japan-US alliance to a higher level, working closely with the incoming president Trump,” Mr Ishiba told reporters at the prime minister’s office. “I will endeavor to have contact with Trump as soon as possible.”
