NILAI: Industries and private businesses in Negri Sembilan will soon be able to acquire Covid-19 vaccines for their workers under the NS Sejahtera programme, says Mentri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun.
He said a private company had obtained approval from the Health Ministry and the Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee (JKJAV) to purchase the vaccines and sell them to companies which wished to inoculate their workers.
The state government, he said, has also given the green light to J&E Advance Tech Sdn Bhd to go ahead with the programme.
“The company will buy the vaccines from Pharmaniaga Lifescience Sdn Bhd and then offer them to industries, small and medium enterprises and businesses in the state. This programme is voluntary and companies wishing to buy the vaccines will have to bear the cost,” he said.
Aminuddin said companies keen to participate in the programme can soon get more information and register at www.nssejahtera.com.my, which is expected to be launched today.
He said the data of the vaccine recipients under the NS Sejahtera programme will be incorporated into the national data under MySejahtera.
“Through NS Sejahtera, we also hope to be able to vaccinate more people and achieve herd immunity faster in the state,” he said.
He said the state government’s supply of vaccines from the federal authorities will not be affected although the company has been given the nod to get its own supply.
Aminuddin said the first vaccination centre under the NS Sejahtera initiative will be set up at Dewan Ube at the Nilai 3 Industrial Area.
