PETALING JAYA: The Malaysia Digital Economy Corp (MDEC) has named Mahadhir Aziz as its new chief executive officer (CEO).

       His appointment took effect yesterday.

       In a statement, the digital transformation agency said Mahadhir has a track record of over 20 years in various industries, including financial services, oil and gas, information technology and media.

       He was the co-founder and CEO of Futurise, an agency under the Finance Ministry (MoF) mandated to drive the National Regulatory Sandbox.

       He was also part of the founding team at the National Economic Implementation and Strategic Coordination Agency, or Laksana, under MoF.
