PETALING JAYA: Labuan has moved to Phase Four of the National Recovery Plan (NRP), making it the first in the country to do so.

       Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said current data showed Labuan had achieved a 92.4% herd immunity rate among the adult population on the island.

       “This is supported by data showing a consistent reduction to single-digit Covid-19 infections in the last 12 days.

       “ICU bed use has reduced to 0%, compared to 30% a month before,” he said in a statement yesterday.

       Under Phase Four, all economic sectors can operate, with 100% workforce, with the set SOP.

       Social activities such as festive celebrations and engagements can be conducted at 50% capacity, with physical distancing measures.

       Seminars and meetings can also be conducted in person, also at 50% capacity.

       Meanwhile, Negri Sembilan has moved to Phase Two of the NRP.

       “In May, ICU bed usage there was at 120%. However, as at Aug 23, the current ICU bed use rate is at 40%.

       “This is in line with the increasing vaccination rate, which currently stands at 72.3% for adults who have received both doses. This shows that Negri Sembilan is on the right track to achieve herd immunity in the near future,” said Ismail Sabri.

       Both Labuan and Negri Sembilan will enter their new phases from Aug 26.

       On vaccination, the Klang Valley is currently at 85.2% for adults with two doses.

       “The police and other enforcement agencies will increase surveillance at roadblocks to control interstate travel.

       “Continue to practise self-lockdowns. Stay at home and practise healthy lifestyle habits with your family at home,” he said.
