MELAKA: State police have issued compound notices totalling RM7.2mil since Phase One of the National Recovery Plan (NRP) in June.

       Melaka police chief Deputy Comm Datuk Abdul Majid Mohd Ali said 2,226 compound notices were issued during the Phase 1 and Phase 2 of the NRP.

       “Some 2,060 compound notices worth RM6.7mil were issued during the Phase 1 from June 1 to Sept 3.

       “Those that were issued to individuals stood at RM6.7mil while RM910,000 were issued to companies,” he said on Thursday (Sept 30).

       DCP Abdul Majid also noted that during Phase 1, some 3,544,965 vehicles were inspected with 6,603 of the motorists asked to turn back at roadblocks while 379,461 applications for interstate were received with 4,851 of the applications rejected.

       For the Phase 2 of the NRP from Sept 4 to Thursday (Sept 30), DCP Abdul Majid said 166 notices of compound totalling RM508,500 were issued.

       He said from the figure, RM398,500 worth of compound notices were issued to individuals while RM110,000 to companies.

       DCP Abdul Majid said during the period, 387,405 vehicles were inspected with 1,138 of the motorists told to turn back.

       He added 26,143 applications were received for interstate travel where 1,138 were rejected.
