The SNP has suffered yet another by-election defeat after their vote slumped by 20 percent in a seat in Stirlingshire, in Scotland's central belt.
The party were aiming to take the Dunblane and Bridge of Allan seat from Scottish Labour after it had been vacated Councillor Ewan Dillon.

More by-election disappointment seems to be on the horizon for the SNP. They have failed to stand a candidate in Arran, but will contest Armadale and Blackridge next week.
In the next few months, the SNP could be forced to contest 18 by-elections.
This could cause problems for the party given its increasingly fraught finances.
According to reports, the party has a £800,000 black hole and is still reeling from the General Election, where the SNP lost the majority of its MPs in the House of Commons - and lost its position as the third largest party in Westminster.

Last month, deluded Mr Swinney tried to encourage the SNP's supporters, saying: “The SNP remains in a strong position. We’ve lost parliamentary seats – that’s a setback.
“But we’ve got secure foundations and I intend to build on those in advance of the 2026 elections, and to make sure that there is an understanding and an appreciation of the formidable record of the Scottish Government in representing the people of Scotland.”
