KUALA LUMPUR: Hwa Tai Industries Bhd said it had received the green light from the Health Ministry on Nov 20 to reopen one of its factories in Batu Pahat, Johor, which had been temporarily shuttered to curb the spread of Covid-19 at the premise.
The group said in a bourse filing that the suspension of operations at the factory will not have any material impact on the company's financial position.
"The safety and well-being of employees of the Company have always been Hwa Tai’s utmost priority and we never compromise on product quality.
"Hwa Tai will continue to adhere strictly to COVID-19 preventive SOPs (standard operating procedures) at all Hwa Tai Group’s offices, factories and workers’ accommodation," it said.
Hwa Tai had said in an earlier bourse filing that the Health Ministry had ordered its factory close on Nov 11 while it implemented mitigating steps to prevent the spread of the coronavirus at the premise.
As at 12.30pm, shares in the group were unchanged at 66.5 sen a share on the back of 244,300 units exchanging hands.
