PETALING JAYA: It was like a recurring nightmare for people living in Taman Buana Perdana in PJS3 here as flood waters rose up to their car porches during the heavy rain on Monday evening (March 7).

Taman Buana Perdana Residents Association committee member Roshen Raj told The Star that the downpour started around 4pm, and as of 5.30pm, their car porches were submerged.

"Our neighbourhood playground is also flooded, it takes about two to three weeks for the water to subside because there is no outlet.

"When the flood happened last December, the flood waters entered our homes.

"MBPJ has not taken any action although they have come up with numerous press statements.

"This is also due to the ongoing development along the main road of Taman Buana Perdana which started about eight months ago, where even the monsoon drain is clogged up.

"This involves Jalan Buana Perdana PJS3/25, 3/26, 3/27 and 3/28," he said, adding that the current flood would take about three hours to subside due to the swollen Klang River nearby.

During the devastating floods last December, Roshen said it happened 24 hours after rain, compared with less than three hours on Monday.

"Never have we experienced flood water rising up to our car porch after three hours of rain," he said.
