Rishi Sunak has won a crunch vote on his Rwanda Bill, despite Right-wing Conservative factions announcing they could not back the emergency “stop the boats” legislation.

       Ahead of the vote on Tuesday, there were fears that a potential rebellion could defeat the Safety of Rwanda Bill at its first hurdle in the Commons.

       But MPs approved the Bill’s second reading by 313 votes to 269, giving the UK Government a winning majority of 44.

       The division list showed no Tory MPs voted against the Bill.
