TOKYO -- Japanese singer Chihiro Onitsuka reported on her official website on Dec. 2 that she had been released after she was arrested for allegedly kicking an ambulance.

Onitsuka, 41, said in the message, "I sincerely apologize that my inappropriate behavior caused trouble to many people. I deeply regret it."

The singer was arrested by the Metropolitan Police Department's Shibuya Police Station on the spot on suspicion of damaging property by kicking an ambulance and denting it on a street in Tokyo's Shibuya Ward on Nov. 28. She reportedly admitted to the allegations and was quoted as saying, "A passerby said something unpleasant to me."

According to her official website, Onitsuka was released on Nov. 30.
