BALIK PULAU: A man was charged in a Magistrate’s Court here with the murder of his girlfriend.

       Abdul Jamal Ahmad, 23, was accused of murdering Nur Diyanah Haris, 21, at a house in Lintang Kampung Masjid, Teluk Kumbar here, between 9am and 5pm on April 3.

       Accused: Abdul Jamal is led away by a police officer following his appearance at the Magistrate’s Court in Balik Pulau. — Bernama

       He was charged under Section 302 of the Penal Code and faces the gallows if convicted.

       No plea was recorded from Abdul Jamal after the charge was read out to him. The case will be transferred to the High Court.

       Magistrate Nur Fadrina Zulkhairi set July 13 for mention pending a post mortem report on the victim.

       The Deputy Public Prosecutor was Nurul Atikah Asharaf Ali while the accused was unrepresented. — Bernama
