PUTRAJAYA: The authenticity of leaked documents alleging a conspiracy to topple Umno is unknown, says Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
When asked by reporters to comment on the alleged plot, dubbed "Pasleak", the Prime Minister said he was not sure if the leaked documents were real.
"We don't know," he said after the launch of the Keluarga Malaysia book on Friday (April 22).
Pasleak refers to several leaked documents, supposedly minutes of a PAS meeting, which allegedly mentioned a conspiracy to topple Umno and Barisan Nasional.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department for Religious Affairs Datuk Idris Ahmad, who was also at the launch, called the leaked documents "rubbish".
"I am a PAS leader and I can say that this so-called leak is rubbish.
"The people behind this have an aim to see a break-up within the government," said Idris, who is PAS vice-president, at a press conference after the event.
The alleged plot is said to involve Terengganu Mentri Besar and PAS vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, PAS secretary-general Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin.
Dr Ahmad Samsuri and Hamzah have also publicly dismissed the alleged leak.
