KULAI: Police have arrested six parang-armed men who allegedly attacked a 24-year-old man here.

       Kulai OCPD Supt Tok Beng Yeow said the victim claimed he was attacked by several armed men on Jalan Lorong 4 in Kulai Besar here on Wednesday (July 14).

       "Police arrested six men aged from 22 to 33 years around Indahpura here on Wednesday night," he said on Thursday (July 15).

       The suspects admitted they were intoxicated and were involved in the fight.

       Supt Tok added that one of the suspects is believed to be a gang member.

       Police are investigating the cause of the incident and locating the weapons used.

       He said all suspects are under remand until July 18, and there are other suspects still at large.

       Supt Tok said the case was being investigated under Section 148 of the Penal Code and Section 43 of the Societies Act 1966.
