SHAH ALAM: The Selangor Zakat Board has distributed emergency aid and will channel death benefits to the husband of a woman who was allegedly beheaded by her son in Kampung Baru Pasir Penambang in Kuala Selangor.
In a Facebook post on Tuesday (Jan 18), the board said it hoped the assistance could ease some of the burden on the victim’s husband and family.
"This couple is one of our asnaf (zakat aid recipients) in Kuala Selangor.
"We still remember their cheerfulness at the zakat presentation last year,” it said.
On Monday (Jan 17), it was reported that Selangor police chief Datuk Arjunaidi Mohamed confirmed that the 28-year-old jobless man suspected of decapitating his mother on Saturday was under the influence of drugs.
In the same post, the board also said drug prevention education and rehabilitation programmes required the involvement of every segment of society and should start from early childhood.
"We pray that the husband and family members remain resilient in the face of this great test. May Allah place his wife's soul among the pious," it said. – Bernama
