A GIRL has vanished on the way home from her school in Essex - sparking an urgent police search.
Teigan Rafferty, 9, was last seen in her school uniform just before 5pm this evening in Corringham.

The nine-year-old schoolgirl was walking on Herd Road with a bag before she went missing.
Her long brown hair was in a ponytail when she was last seen, police said.
Cops are now urging the public to help them in the search for Teigan.
Essex Police said: "We're looking for for Teigan Rafferty, 9, who's missing from Corringham.
"Last seen in Herd Rd area at 4.50pm wearing a blue school uniform and carrying a bag.
"She's 4ft 6/5ft tall with long brown hair in a ponytail. Any info call 101 or 999."

This comes after police launched a desperate search for a 12-year-old girl in the North East.
Ruby Petty-Linton was last spotted around 8pm on Monday in the Hemlington area of Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire.
The teen was last seen wearing a black hooded top, a white t-shirt and black leggings.
She was also wearing grey and black Nike trainers.
Cleaveland Police have asked anyone who might have seen Ruby or know of her whereabouts to call them urgently.
