KUALA LUMPUR: Malay Rulers are about to have a special meeting at Istana Negara on Friday (Aug 20) to deliberate who should be appointed as prime minister of Malaysia.
The meeting, scheduled to take place at 2.30pm, is where the Yang di-Pertuan Agong is likely to inform Malay Rulers the decision of the verification exercise carried out over the past few days to confirm who was likely to have majority support of MPs in the Dewan Rakyat.

2pm: It is now raining heavily in front of the palace. Members of the media who were in place as early as 11am are seeking shelter under umbrellas.
1.55pm: The first motorcade is seen entering the Istana Negara gates, believed to be from the Pahang royal family. It is not known who is in the lead vehicle.
