MELAKA: A 15-year-old tahfiz student was killed along the North-South Expressway near Alor Gajah while riding a motorcycle belonging to his teacher to his hometown in Nilai, Negri Sembilan.
Alor Gajah OCPD Supt Arshad Abu said the student is believed to have lost control of the vehicle along KM197.5 of the expressway (north-bound) at 8.20pm on Saturday (Feb 25).
"Based on our initial investigation, the student had ridden the motorcycle belonging to his teacher who is also an Ustaz without his permission," he said when contacted on Saturday (Feb 26).
Supt Arshad said the student, from a tahfiz school in Jasin, died on the spot due to severe injury to his stomach.
"The motorcycle was found in a monsoon drain along the expressway," he said.
He identified the student as Muhammad Ashraf Abdullah from Taman Desa Jasmin, Bandar Baru Nilai, Negri Sembilan.
"My men are still investigating the reason why the student had made a trip to his hometown without the permission of his school management," he added.
