Population growth in suburban Cook and the five collar counties stalled to what is easily the slowest rate since 1950, according to new data released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau.
Though it’s not a collar county, Kendall County, located about 50 miles southwest of Chicago and home to communities including Oswego and Yorkville, was Illinois’ fastest-growing county, growing nearly 15%, according to the AP.
