ALOR SETAR: A man who was gored in the stomach by a raging bull is now in stable condition.

       Identified only as Hakim, 50, he had an operation at Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital (HSB) after the attack in Pokok Sena, about 15km from here.

       He was helping the farm owner to check on the bull’s left hind leg, which was said to be swollen, at a farm in Kampung Pecah Gadung.Farm owner, known as Mat, 30, said he could only watch in horror when the bull attacked Hakim at about 8am on Tuesday.

       “The bull gored Hakim at least twice in the stomach before I managed to pull him away.

       “It is very lucky the bull did not gore his chest.

       “I dread to think what could have happened if he was, ” he added.

       Mat said they were untying the bull to check on its left leg before the two-year-old bull turned aggressive and started to attack Hakim.

       Mat, a farm owner for five years, said he has 11 cows with five of them weighing more than one tonne each, which have been sold to private corporations for the upcoming Hari Raya Aidiladha sacrifice on July 20.

       Mat said he had not lodged a police report over the incident.
