A TEENAGE girl has been raped in broad daylight in an alleyway near a pub in Bradford.

       The 18-year-old was attacked on Market Street, Wibsey yesterday afternoon, cops confirmed.

       Police were called last night and a cordon is now in place as their enquiries continue.

       Detectives have launched an investigation into the shocking attack, but no arrests have yet been made.

       The sight of the cordon caused a lot of concern among residents in the area, according to YorkshireLive.

       Worried locals have expressed their fear after the attack took place in the Wibsey alleyway between Market Street and Hardy Street.

       Gemma Wright, 20, who lives in the next street to where the attack happened, told the MailOnline: "Its terrifying to think that women aren't safe here, even during daylight hours.

       "How did nobody hear or see anything?

       'Me and my girlfriends are scared that it could happen to us."

       And resident Carole Smith, 33, said: “Until this animal is caught we are not going to feel safe walking the streets.

       “Attacking a girl in broad daylight shows he's not scared of getting caught.”

       A YorkshireLive reporter said that the alleyway where the attack took place runs between two houses, from a cul-de-sac to a street.

       The alley has now been taped off by police, with officers said to be on guard.

       A spokesman for the force said: "Police are investigating following a report of a rape which was received at 5.45pm yesterday.

       "A scene is in place in Market Street, Wibsey while enquiries continue and an 18-year-old woman is being supported by specially trained officers."
