KOTA KINABALU: Those entering Sabah starting Dec 1 are to take note of some regulations to avoid legal repercussions.

As announced, those coming into Sabah are no longer required to take a Covid-19 test but must be fully vaccinated and possess updated travel and identification documents.

Minister in charge of Covid-19 matters in the state, Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun, said Malaysians aged above 12 who have yet to be vaccinated or not fully inoculated must undergo swab tests and provide proof of their results showing they do not have Covid-19.

The result slip must be presented to Immigration officials upon arrival to Sabah, he said.

Children aged below 12 must be accompanied by fully vaccinated parents or guardians while those who have yet to take their jabs due to health reasons must bring along medical slips to prove their condition, he said.

Masidi said non-citizen group travellers or investors must not exceed 10 people per group.

Overseas students entering Sabah to enter campuses and hostels here must be fully vaccinated for at least 14 days prior to their arrival here.

All visitors, workers and students must possess the necessary documents including visas (if required), work passes and identification as well as travel documents when entering Sabah, when in the state and when leaving.

Masidi said foreign domestic workers, on the other hand, must also enter Sabah accompanied by their employers.

He said this during his daily Covid-19 briefing for Sabah on Friday (Nov 26).

Sabah recorded a total of 486 new cases with eight deaths on Friday.

Masidi said from these new cases, over 41% were sporadic.

He reiterated the need for everyone to strictly adhere to SOPs to prevent Covid-19 transmissions.
