MORE than one in ten Geordies eat at least one pie every day, a poll shows.
The rate in Newcastle and the rest of the North East region was much higher than the national average — with one in five people across Britain saying they tuck in just once a week.

It was double that in Scotland and 12 times that in the East of England or Northern Ireland.
The survey also found a quarter of us think beef is the best flavour when it comes to pies.
Steak and ale and steak and kidney came on top of the favourite flavour list ahead of chicken and leek, followed by more steak with Stilton.
But less traditional chicken tikka was the top choice for shoppers in major cities such as Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and London.

The curry-filled treat is also a hit for under-25s, with 15 per cent of Gen Z picking the spicy option over a more classic combination.
Scots loved a haggis pie, with 14 per cent of Edinburgh folk calling it their favourite, but only four per cent of Glaswegians said the same.
Tesco’s poll comes ahead of British Pie Week from Monday, which the supermarket is celebrating with new additions to its Finest range.
A spokesman said: “Whether your cravings call for a classic or you’ve got the urge to try something new, Finest pies are guaranteed to turn mealtimes into a hearty occasion.”
