IPOH: The main road heading to Pos Beswok in Sungai Siput has been closed following a landslide on Thursday (Nov 25).

       Perak infrastructure, water and public transport committee chairman Datuk Mohd Zolkafly Harun said the repair works would be completed in one or two days.

       "The affected area is estimated at 60m wide with a 10m to 15m slope.

       "As a short-term solution, an alternative route will be set up by today (Friday, Nov 26) and we have issued a road closure notice," he said on Friday.

       It was reported that the landslide involved two locations along the main road and that the road closure included the road heading to Lata Penyel waterfall at Kampung Pendeq Pos Yum.

       Mohd Zolkafly added that a slope reconstruction would be done.

       "Based on the forensic reports, a slope reconstruction will be built as part of our long-term solution," he said.
