National Highways: North-West tweeted: "#M6 southbound #J38 (#Kendal #Brough #A685) to #J37 (#Kendal #Sedbergh #A684) 1 lane has been closed due to a collision.

       "5 miles worth of congestion on the approach to this incident adding 25 minutes on top of normal journey times."

       Earlier today, there were also closures along the M6 Southboung due to a broken down vehicle.

       However, all the lanes are now running again.

       "Traffic Officers & Recovery are on their way to the area.

       They later added: "UPDATE: The vehicle has now been recovered and all lanes are now running. Have a safe onward journey.

       "The #M6 southbound #J17 (#Congleton #Sandbach #A534) to #J16 (#StokeOnTrent #Crewe #Nantwich #A500) 1 lane has been closed due to a broken down vehicle."
