PETALING JAYA: The enhanced movement control order has been imposed on two Orang Asli villages in Gua Musang, Kelantan, and one Orang Asli village in Bentong, Pahang, from Aug 21 to Sept 3, says the National Security Council (NSC).
In Sabah, two localities in Telupid and two estate housing in Beluran are also put under EMCO for the same period, says NSC director Datuk Rodzi Md Saad in a statement on Thursday (Aug 19).
"In Kelantan, two Orang Asli villages in Pos Blau, Gua Musang are affected. They are Kampung Blau and Kampung Batang.
"In Pahang, it is the Kampung Orang Asli Sungai Lebak in Bentong, Pahang.
"Meanwhile, the two localities in Telupid, Sabah, are Kampung Gambaron 1 and Ladang Ribu Bonus while the two estate housing in Beluran, Sabah are the Perumahan Ladang Cepat Wawasan 7000 and Perumahan Ladang Meridian Paitan," he said.
Rodzi also announced that the EMCO will be extended until Sept 3 for Taman Nilam, Mukim Kuah, Langkawi, Kedah; the Bentong Penjara Complex including the quarters in Bentong, Pahang; as well as two localities in Tawau, Sabah which are Kampung Baru Pasir Putih and Kampung Wallace Bay.
All of these locations were supposed to have their EMCO expire on Friday (Aug 20).
He also announced the expiry of the enhanced MCO for Kampung Morak, Mukim Kebakat, Tumpat, Kelantan; Veetar palm factory housing in Tongod, Sabah and Felda Sungai Koyan 1 and 2, Lipis, Pahang on Friday (Aug 20) as scheduled.
