MUAR: A double-storey shophouse in Jalan Temenggong Ahmad, Parit Bakar near here caught fire on Tuesday (Feb 15).

       Muar Fire and Rescue Department chief Shahrizal Mohtar said they received an emergency call at 3.17pm.

       He said two fire rescue tender (FRT) vehicles, an emergency medical response services (EMRS) vehicle and a water tanker were used in the operation.

       “The operations were led by Senior Chief II Nor Alfattah Omar with 21 firefighters,’’ Mohtar said in a statement.

       He said the fire damaged the first floor of the shophouse, adding the cause of the incident and the losses suffered are still under investigation.

       The fire was put out at 6.26pm.
