The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are reportedly "seriously considering" a move to Windsor with their three children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. If William and Kate do relocate, they will count Eugenie, Andrew and the Queen among their neighbours.

       Eugenie is staying at Meghan Markle and Prince Harry's former Windsor home, Frogmore Cottage, with her husband Jack Brooksbank and their son August.

       Meanwhile, the Queen has mainly been based at Winsor Castle since the pandemic.

       Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson also live in Windsor at Royal Lodge.

       If William and Kate move to Windsor, they will be closer to Eugenie, the Queen and the Duke and Duchess of York.

       A source claimed the town is the "perfect compromise" for the couple.

       William and Kate currently split their time between Kensington Palace and their Norfolk residence Anmer Hall.

       But the insider pointed out that Anmer Hall is "a little too far away for weekends".

       The source told the Mail on Sunday: "Anmer Hall made sense while William was a helicopter pilot in East Anglia and it was useful for Christmases at Sandringham, but it doesn’t really work any more.

       "It’s a little too far away for weekends, but Windsor is a perfect compromise.

       "They are eyeing up options in the area."

       The move would also mean the Cambridges are closer to Kate's parents Carole and Michael Middleton.

       The Middletons live in Bucklebury, Berskhire.

       They would no doubt be delighted to have their grandchildren closer to them.

       The Queen was previously based at Buckingham Palace but since the pandemic she has been mainly at Windsor.

       Eugenie and Jack are living at the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's former home after they quit royal duties and moved to the US.

       And the Yorks continue to share a residence despite their divorce in 1996.
