       KUWAIT CITY, March 16: Eugene Nugent, the Vatican’s Ambassador to Kuwait, lauded the spirit of coexistence in the country, highlighting the harmonious atmosphere where Muslims, Christians, and followers of other faiths worship peacefully, reports Al-Jarida daily. Speaking at a Mass commemorating the 11th anniversary of Pope Francis’s papal election at the Holy Family Cathedral, Nugent expressed gratitude to Kuwait’s leadership and people for their hospitality.

       Due to Ramadan, formal celebrations were postponed, but Nugent expressed hope for future gatherings. Emphasizing solidarity between Christians observing Lent and Muslims observing Ramadan, Nugent stressed the importance of mutual respect and brotherhood. Referring to Pope Francis’s recent calls for peace in Gaza and Ukraine, Nugent urged global humanitarian action. Reflecting on his experiences in impoverished nations, Nugent underscored the urgent need to address poverty’s harsh realities, urging tangible efforts to alleviate suffering.
