Princess Eugenie, 31, and her husband Jack Brooksbank, 35, couldn't hide their joy as they finally got to baptise their first son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank. The couple welcomed the boy to the world on February 9 this year, making Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah, Duchess of York grandparents for the first time.

       August is Her Majesty The Queen's ninth great-grandchild.

       August was baptised in a joint christening ceremony held in a private church that forms part of the Royal Lodge house, on the Queen's Windsor estate.

       He was christened alongside Zara and Mike Tindall's third child, Lucas Philip Tindall, who was born on March 21.

       It is believed this ceremony marked the first time two royals have been baptised together in this way.

       Eugenie and Jack were seen smiling upon arrival for the ceremony, held at All Saints Chapel in Great Windsor Park.

       For the occasion, the Princess opted for a beige headband that coordinated with her outfit.

       The couple were among the first to arrive for the ceremony and arrived in a chauffeur-driven Land Rover.

       Their son August was meant to be christened in July, but due to Covid, the event was cancelled.

       August's paternal grandparents George and Nicola Brooksbank were also spotted arriving for the ceremony.

       While Lucas' parents Zara and Mike Tindall arrived in separate vehicles at the venue.

       According to claims made by a royal source, the Queen was "very keen" to attend the christening.

       Earlier this week, a royal source told The Sun: "Her Majesty is very keen to be there as she knows how important this is for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren."

       The 95-year-old monarch was among guests and immediate family and close friends at the event.

       She was witnessed wearing a bright green hat in pictures that show her leaving the christening venue.

       This marked the first appearance of the Queen since she was forced to pull out of her appearance at last weekend’s Remembrance Sunday service at the Cenotaph after spraining her back.

       Her Majesty was recently advised rest by doctors after an overnight stay in hospital.

       Swirling rumours suggest that holy water collected by Prince Charles during his recent trip to Jordan could be used during the service.

       The Prince of Wales, 73, and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, 74, were given dozens of bottles of fresh holy water from the site where Jesus was baptised during their recent royal tour.

       The director-general of the baptism site, Rustom Mkhjian, confirmed that the water was destined for a future royal baptism.

       He told the Mirror: "This time the Embassy people asked for a few dozens [bottles] of Holy water and we provided them with five dozen, six dozen.

       "They said we wanted it for children to be baptised later on. Future baptisms, yes."
