ISKANDAR PUTERI: Four assemblymen have been barred from the state assembly due to Covid-19 health concerns.

Speaker Suhaizan Kayat said Tenggaroh assemblyman K. Raven Kumar of MIC tested positive for Covid-19 on Thursday, while Tangkak’s Ee Chin Li (DAP) was identified through contact tracing.

“The two assemblymen will have to miss this meeting until Wednesday due to Covid-19,” he said yesterday.

Suhaizan added that the other two assemblymen were Johor Lama’s Rosleli Jahari (Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia) and Senai’s Tee Boon Tsong (DAP).

“Tee showed some symptoms – he was coughing – and we asked him to go home as a precautionary measure.

“Rosleli tested positive through a RTK at Bangunan Sultan Ismail before entering the august house.

“However, he tested negative during a second test at Hospital Sultanah Aminah,” he said, adding that Tee and Rosleli will be under home quarantine till tomorrow.

Suhaizan also said that former prime minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is Gambir assemblyman, and Simpang Jeram representative Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub, who is Parti Amanah Negara deputy president, had informed him that they could not attend the meeting.
