KUALA LUMPUR (Bernama): Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has expressed his condolences to the family of Muhammad Aming Salleh Abdullah who died after experiencing shortness of breath at about 1.30am on Thursday (Aug 26).

Ismail Sabri in a Facebook post said he shared a post about the child on Jan 23 while he was Senior Minister (Security) where the boy advised the people in the fight against Covid-19.

"Aming was a good and smart little boy. Let us offer the deceased Al Fatihah," he said in the post.

Muhammad Aming, 8, gained fame for his Facebook videos where he spoke eloquently with a Sabah accent despite his young age.

Among the videos that won the hearts of many was a clip in which he urged the public to adhere to the standard operating procedures (SOP) amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

In TAWAU, Muhammad Aming's mother, Santi Sabri, 33, said her son, the youngest of four siblings, died at their residence in Jalan Kuhara after experiencing shortness of breath at about 1.30am.

"My child was healthy as he played around yesterday. In fact, he helped carry things. At about midnight he said he wanted to eat instant noodles but at 1am he suddenly made a call for prayer and prayed before he breathed his last.

"He often gave me advice. I cannot believe he is no longer around. In fact, it was only recently that he helped me with my business at the Sin Onn market," she said.

Nevertheless, Santi said she accepted the fate and considered it as a test for the whole family.

Muhammad Aming's father, Alip Mohamad, 45, said his son was asthmatic and was easily tired. – Bernama
