SIBU: Six-term assemblyman Datuk Seri Wong Soon Koh is in a five-cornered fight that includes two women candidates for the Bawang Assan seat.
Wong, 79, the president of Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB), first won the seat in the 1991 election on a Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) ticket.
In 2016, he contested under the United People's Party (UPP), which is now known as PSB.
The former second finance minister won by a majority of 4,130 votes then.
Wong will face Senator Robert Lau Hui Yew (GPS), Michelle Ling Shyan Mih (PBK), Amy Lau Bik Yieng (DAP) and Ricky Entrie (Independent) in the upcoming Sarawak polls.
