PETALING JAYA: PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim says Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin's resignation will pave the way for a new direction for the country.

       “The decision by Tan Sri Mahiaddin Yassin (Muhyiddin Yassin) to resign today is welcomed and it will pave the way for a new direction for the country.

       “I urge all parties to remain calm and pray for Malaysia to rise stronger again in facing the health and economic challenges at this moment,” he said on Facebook on Monday (Aug 16).

       Anwar also thanked Muhyiddin for his service to the country.

       Earlier, Muhyiddin announced that he had tendered his resignation as the prime minister, as well as the Cabinet’s resignation to the King.
