There are many gorgeous locations across Europe to build a house, but one exclusive area has become a hotspot for the wealthy.
Known for its stunning coastline, luxury properties, and peaceful surroundings, the spot has attracted high-profile residents - including one of the world’s greatest footballers.
Cristiano Ronaldo is reportedly building a massive £18 million mansion in Quinta da Marinha, an elite neighbourhood on Portugal’s Atlantic coast.
Located in Cascais, about 25 minutes from Lisbon, the area is known for its luxurious homes and golf courses, and is very close to some of the country’s best beaches.
The Portuguese football legend, who has made millions throughout his career, reportedly plans to use the home as a base for his retirement.

According to some property experts, his new residence could become the most expensive private home in Portugal once completed.
Quinta da Marinha is one of the most exclusive areas in Portugal and has large properties that are surrounded by greenery and the Atlantic Ocean.
According to figures from local estate agents, homes in the area range from around £3 million for older houses to over £20 million for new, modern villas.
Many international buyers have been drawn to the neighbourhood in recent years, with demand particularly high among wealthy Brazilians and Americans. And, with limited land available for development, property prices have continued to rise.

Aside from its high-end real estate, the area is known for its luxury lifestyle. Residents have access to private golf courses, high-end fitness centres, and world-class equestrian facilities.
The coastal location also means there are plenty of opportunities to take up water sports, while the nearby town of Cascais offers fine dining and entertainment.
While the exact details of Ronaldo’s property remain private, reports suggest it will feature a massive 3,200-square-foot main suite and an indoor glass-walled swimming pool.
The footballer has invested heavily in real estate over the years, owning properties in Portugal, Spain, Italy, and beyond.
