KUALA LUMPUR: Bukit Aman will be advising the public on the dangers of using micromobility vehicles such as escooters on public roads, says Comm Datuk Mat Kasim Karim.

       The Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) director said the police will not be taking action against the offenders in the early stages.

       “As we all know the existing laws have been amended to ban the use of such vehicles on the road.

       “Instead of acting against the offenders straight away, we will be advising those using escooters on the dangers of using the vehicle on the road,” he told reporters during the launch of Ops Selamat at Menara TM yesterday.

       He said JSPT will be working closely with the Road Transport Department (JPJ) on the matter.
