KUWAIT CITY, July 15: The Chief of the General Fire Brigade, Lieutenant- General Khaled Al-Makrad, affirmed the continuation of opening new fire centers as part of the efforts to reduce the response time to accident reports and save lives and property from any dangers. Lieutenant-General Al-Makrad told reporters on the sidelines of the inauguration of the Al-Sour Center in Jaber Al-Ahmad City, “On behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Nasser Al-Mohammed, the opening of the center comes within the force’s plan to open fire stations in new cities and regions,” pointing out that these centers are equipped with trained human cadres and provided with the latest mechanisms to protect the lives and property of citizens and residents.

Al-Mukrad team then toured the center, which is built with the latest construction systems to meet the needs of work and the convenience of the firefighters. The center consists of a basement, a ground fl oor and a first fl oor and contains fully equipped gymnasiums, in addition to a swimming pool with modern specifications, a football field, volleyball and a basketball court, and classrooms for holding training courses. The center serves Jaber Al-Ahmad City, the eastern and western Doha stations, Doha chalets and public warehouses, in addition to supporting Al-Tahrir and Sulaibikhat centers.
