SIBU: A two-year-old was stung to death by wasps in Pakan on Wednesday (July 13).

       Julau OCPD Deputy Supt Andam Sulin said the incident happened at about 11am when the victim, Patricia Sanggau, was with her mother at the family's pepper farm near their longhouse, Rumah Saba Nunggang.

       "A wasp stung her left ear and the victim started crying uncontrollably, and her mother quickly took her home," he said.

       However, she was unable to send the child to the clinic as her husband was not at home.

       DSP Andam said the child's father only came home at 8pm and rushed her to the clinic.

       They arrived at the clinic at 8.30pm and according to the doctor there, the child was in a weak condition.

       "She passed away at 11pm due to an allergic reaction from the sting," he said.
