JOHOR BARU: The late Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub was known for his hard work and good deeds, says Dr Boo Cheng Hau.
The former Johor DAP chief said he had known Salahuddin for the past 26 years.
“I am really saddened by the loss of a great comrade-in-arm and real friend.
“I had known him during the ‘Reformasi Era’ when he was the national PAS and Johor PAS Youth chief and I was the DAP Youth chief,” he said in a Facebook post Monday (July 24).
Dr Boo added that he was also sending his deepest condolences to Salahuddin's family and said that his smile and his hard work will forever be remembered.
“Rest in peace, my friend,” he added.
Johor PKR vice-chairman Jimmy Puah Wee Tse also conveyed his condolences to the family, saying that he had also lost a good friend.

“I have known him for the past 10 years; he was a loving and very magnanimous person who was truly committed to building a better Malaysia.
“His last conversation with me was during this year's Hari Raya celebration, where he said life is more than politics and that you must always find some time to be with your loved ones.
“Thank you, Datuk, for all the lessons that you have given me,” he said in a Facebook post.
Meanwhile, Johor PAS commissioner Abdullah Husin said that the loss was also deeply felt by his family, as they had known each other for a very long time.
“Allahyarham has always texted me, and the different views in politics had never severed our friendship.
“His contribution to Johor PAS will always be remembered, and his passing will surely be one of the biggest losses for the country,” he said.
Abdullah also shared a picture when Salahuddin paid him a visit during the death of his wife, Habibah Hussin, in December last year.
“He had come to visit me when I lost my wife on Dec 12, 2022,” he said, adding that he prayed that the members of the family would be given the strength to face this loss.
