ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Ibni Almarhum Sultan Iskandar reminds all 56 assemblymen in the state to behave themselves during the state assembly meeting.

       His Majesty said it was the government’s responsibility to plan and execute reasonable actions to help the affected rakyat.

       “Therefore, I would like to remind all assemblymen to make full use of this meeting to discuss and come up with an action plan to help the rakyat and grow Johor’s economy,” Sultan Ibrahim said.

       His Majesty said this in his decree during the opening of the state assembly meeting held at Bangunan Sultan Ismail in Kota Iskandar here on Thursday (Aug 12).

       Also present was Tunku Mahkota Johor Tunku Ismail Ibni Sultan Ibrahim; Tunku Temenggong Johor Tunku Idris Ibni Sultan Ibrahim; Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, who is also Gambir assemblyman; and Mentri Besar Datuk Hasni Mohammad.

       Sultan Ibrahim added there was no need to debate or bring irrelevant motions when the assemblymen must prioritise the rakyat who are facing difficulties, hunger, list of jobs and some fighting for their lives due to Covid-19 pandemic.

       His Majesty said now was not the time for fighting but to unite and cooperate.

       “I would like to remind everyone that this hall is a place to discuss and make decisions for the best interests of Johor and the people.

       “Do not contaminate my hall with bad behaviour. This is a noble hall and not a hall of caged monkeys,” he said, telling state Speaker Suhaizan Kaiat to remember his order.

       Sultan Ibrahim added that he would not entertain any political games from the assemblymen that could disrupt the government’s duty.

       “If there is a situation that causes the government to fall, then I will not hesitate to dissolve the Johor assembly. I feel there should not be 'wakil rakyat' who only think about their position instead of the rakyat’s interests.

       “When the Covid-19 situation is under control, I will hand it back to the Rakyat to choose new assemblymen and this time, choose correctly for leaders who are sincere and want to serve the rakyat,” he added.
