PUTRAJAYA: The 15th General Election will be held by end of July 2022 at the latest depending on the Covid-19 situation in the country, says Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin.

       “Based on the pandemic situation, I take an oath that the 15th General Election will be held latest by the end of July next year,” he said in a televised live address on Friday (Aug 13).

       Making the pledge, Muhyiddin asserted that he has no intention to cling to power.

       He also said the government needed the support of the Opposition parties during the motion of confidence in Parliament in efforts to bring the country out of the political crisis.
