TWO people have been charged with perverting the course of justice after a mum-of-two was found dead just yards from a school.

       Kerry Newman was tragically discovered by police on a path near a primary school in Rochdale, Manchester, at around 4.30am on Monday.

       Cops said they are treating Kerry's death as "suspicious" and confirmed that Kerry was taken from an address in Freehold to New Barn Lane.

       Robert Halliwell, 48, and Melanie Bullen, 52, will appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates' Court today.

       Yesterday, the pair were held in custody for further questioning with the investigation still ongoing.

       Detective Chief Inspector Rachel Smith said: "We are continuing to appeal to anyone with information relating to this incident to please come forward so we can determine what happened to Kerry and give her family the answers they deserve.

       "This includes any witnesses, anyone with knowledge of the incident, or CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage in relation to this incident."

       Kerry has been described by her mother and stepfather as: “A loving daughter and mother of two boys, taken away from us too soon.

       "She is now in heaven with the angels, rest in peace our beautiful girl.”

       The family has requested privacy at this sad and difficult time.
