KUALA LUMPUR: Umno channelled a contribution of RM1mil to the Malaysian Consultative Council for Islamic Organisations (Mapim) for Malaysia's 100-Container Emergency Humanitarian Aid Mission to Gaza, Palestine.

       Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, in a Facebook post on Saturday (March 30), expressed hope that the donation can help the Palestinian people, as they are observing Ramadan and the upcoming Syawal.

       "Currently, we can see in the media, that our brothers and sisters in Palestine are going through severe suffering and difficulties due to the brutality of the Zionist army.

       "I would like to extend my sincere thanks to the contributors, especially Umno members. May Allah reward those involved as much as possible and I pray that every donation will benefit the Palestinian people as much as possible,” he said.
