PUTRAJAYA: Police have nabbed 541 individuals for various standard operating procedure (SOP) violations.
The offences include cross-border travel without permission/eating at premises, no social distancing, failure to register when entering premises, failure to abide by movement control order and premises which did not follow SOP.
Of those arrested on Sunday (July 18), 492 individuals were slapped with compound notices, 20 were remanded and 29 were released on bail.
The task force monitoring SOP compliance had checked 83,710 premises on Sunday.
Among premises checked were 1,539 factories, 14,945 business premises, 508 construction sites and 190 workers’ hostels.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob said 31 premises comprising factories, business premises and construction sites were ordered to close for failing to comply with SOP.
On Ops Benteng, Ismail Sabri said 11 illegal immigrants were arrested and seven land vehicles were seized on Sunday.
“Authorities had also carried out 181 disinfectant exercises across the country, involving 71 red zones, five amber and three yellow zones,” he said on Monday (July 19).
