One person is dead and four teenagers are injured after a Sunday evening shooting in Evanston, according to police.
Evanston police received calls of multiple shots fired at 7:17 p.m. Sunday night in the 1900 block of Green Bay Road, according to police.
Officers located five people who had been shot, police said. One male died of his injuries, according to police. His name and age have not yet been released.
Two males and two females ranging from 14 to 18 years of age were transported to area hospitals, police said. Their conditions were not immediately available Sunday night.
The address given by police of where four of the shooting victims were located is a gas station.
According to a tweet from Evanston police Commander Ryan Glew, “The initial investigation does not indicate further danger to the public but no suspects are presently in custody.”
