MELAKA: The Pantai Kundor nomination centre manager has been identified as a close contact of a Covid-19-positive individual, forcing the nomination process to be conducted outside the SMK Kampung Gelam hall.

       Centre manager Zukhairi Arun was quarantined in an Election Commission (EC) vehicle on Monday (Nov 8) during the nomination process.

       Pakatan Harapan candidate Datuk Nor Azman Hassan said the filing was initially supposed to be held inside the school hall.

       However, due to the situation, the candidates were asked to file their papers outside the hall where Zukhairi, in full personal protective equipment, endorsed the documents from inside the quarantine vehicle.

       Nor Azman will face Tuminah Kadi of Barisan Nasional and Mohd Rizwan Mustafa of Perikatan Nasional in a three-cornered fight.
