MELAKA: Perikatan Nasional has managed to wrest the Bemban seat in a five-cornered fight with a slim majority of 328.

       Perikatan’s Dr Mohd Yadzil Yaakub secured 4,211 votes, while his closest opponent Datuk Koh Chin Han of Barisan Nasional had 3,883 votes, official Election Commission results show.

       Pakatan Harapan’s Tey Kok Kiew garnered 3,095 votes.

       The seat was won by Pakatan in GE14 with a 1,345 majority.

       Two Independent candidates, Datuk Ng Choon Koon and Azmi Kamis, lost their deposits after only securing 850 and 130 votes respectively.

       This is Perikatan’s second win in Melaka, after the Sungai Udang seat.
